About BrainStorm Games

Welcome to BrainStorm Games, an independent micro-studio based in Malta. Our mission is simple but ambitious: to build playful, compact digital experiences that make complex scientific ideas easy, engaging, and highly accessible to understand.

We firmly believe that video games are among the most powerful learning tools available today. When a player makes a strategic decision, receives immediate feedback, and tries again, they internalize complex concepts through hands-on practice. Educators often refer to this process as "stealth learning"—the magical moment when you are having so much fun that you don't even realize you are studying biology.

The Story of ImmunoBlitz

ImmunoBlitz is our flagship science strategy game, focused entirely on the fascinating and complex human immune system. While it was designed primarily with learners aged 8–14 in mind, we have found that curious adults and parents enjoy the challenge just as much.

The idea for ImmunoBlitz was born out of a desire to visualize what happens inside our bodies every single day. Textbooks can explain how antibodies work, but putting players in charge of defending the body against waves of invading microbes—like viruses, bacteria, and fungi—turns abstract science into an interactive defense challenge. By upgrading internal organs and deploying realistic medical interventions such as vaccines, antibiotics, antiseptics, and masks, players experience the cause-and-effect of human immunology firsthand.

What Players Learn Through Gameplay

Our Game Design Philosophy

At BrainStorm Games, we follow a strict design philosophy: "Simple to pick up, rewarding to master." The core mechanics of ImmunoBlitz are intentionally clear and intuitive. You pop bubbles to damage invading microbes or heal your organs, earn critical points, and carefully choose your upgrades. However, the deep interactions between your chosen upgrades, the health of target organs, and the specific microbe types create a highly meaningful layer of strategy.

Each run of the game lasts around 20 waves. This structure is heavily intentional; it encourages short, highly focused play sessions that fit perfectly into a classroom period or a quick study break, promoting gradual skill growth and knowledge retention over time.

Looking to the Future

ImmunoBlitz is free to play on both web browsers and Android devices, supported only by limited, family-friendly ads that allow us to continue development and cover server costs.

But our work isn't done yet. We are actively planning to keep improving the game's accessibility, providing even clearer scientific feedback for learners, and adding quality-of-life tweaks based on player feedback. We are also exploring optional community modes, such as ranked leaderboards, to add a friendly competitive edge to learning.

Thank you for supporting independent educational games and helping us make science more approachable, one level at a time. If you’d like to suggest features, report a bug, or inquire about using ImmunoBlitz in your school curriculum, we’d absolutely love to hear from you at info@brainstorm-games.com.
